Taa Quests: Two

The tall lioness loomed over the cub who was peering up at her with wide, terrified eyes. Taa had experience with eating unwanted cubs, but she was not hungry enough to try turning this cub into food. She stared at it for a long time but turned and walked off. If the cub lived or died then it was not matter to her. A small paw batting her tail tuft made the thin lioness swing her head around. The cub was trotting after her on stubby legs. One paw was batting at her tail. The lioness was quiet, deciding what to do, then turned and picked up the cub and resumed walking to her latest kill. The cub looked at the dead lion, eyes wide. Taa ignored the expression and tore a chunk of meat up before she sat it in front of the youngster. It stared back at her and made no move to touch the meat. Taa frowned and nudged it with her nose, making soft clicks and beeps. But still no response. What was wrong with it? The child looked like it would be old enough to eat meat on its own, and here was a piece...for free! A light bulb flashed in her mind, maybe it didn't know that this was food. Apparently, lion was not on the menu of other lions. Another sign at how complete idiots these lions were and now she was thriving while many others were not. Taa picked up the chunk of flesh and chewed it then swallowed. Then she got another piece and once more offered it to the cub. The little lion peered up at her then tentatively took the meat in its mouth and chewed before swallowing. The little body shuddered a bit, then suddenly it let out a happy mew and pawed her, clearly wanting more. Taa couldn't help a small smile as she began tearing off small pieces of meat, offering it to the cub which ate every piece until it finally was full. The tiny tummy was float and it had a content expression on its face. Taa went to lay down, exhausted. She made no effort to move as the little cub crept towards her and nestled in against her belly. The soft snores from the child ended up lulling Taa to sleep.

Taa Quests: 1

Taa carried the bone to a good spot then sat it down. It wasn't taking her long to guess that she was smarter than many of the other inhabitants of this area and that was because she was born use to harsh environments. In the desert or badlands, you had to be cunning to keep yourself fed, if not...then too bad. The black lioness looked around intensely before she beeped to herself. This spot would do. She was cunning and had great patience. That was a common thing she found around here, these lions were always impatient, they expected things to happen. It was amusing even if half their words were unknown to her. Taa turned and found a hiding spot and waited. She made sure to choose one of suitable shelter as the sun made her black fur uncomfortable. But luckily, she did not have to wait long. A jackal came along but the smell of lion scared it off. No problem there, she knew. Jackals were fun to chance and a good snack, but not worth too much effort. Soft paws caught her attention and she lifted her head, blue eyes intent. A lone lioness was walking, her figure thin from lack of nutrition. Her eyes were darting around, overly cautious, but also hopeful for any sign of food. Taa watched as the lioness caught sight of the bone and hurried over, clearly brought over by the prospect of food. Taa watched her a bit then moved like an ebony snake. The other lioness sunk her teeth into the bone, but at that last moment she felt teeth sink into her spine. The last thing the lion saw was a scrawny black animal before her vision was overcome by true blackness. The black lion poked at the corpse with a large paw. Frowning slightly. It wasn't too thin, but not the plump as a lion that has been eating well. Taa didn't care. To her this lioness was no longer a lion, it was merely food now. She grew up on the flesh of lions beside what fair could be found and it served her well. You could not be picky in such a place as the Outlands, the other lions seemed to not realize this and insisted on trying to find other food...how could they expect to last if they did not use the deceased? In her mind, these lions died to provide food for the survivors. After finishing her meal, Taa stretched out and settled down to rest.
